Join the Neighborhood Support Team!
Inspired by Jesus’ example of love, compassion, and practical service, Rooted Kent is launching a new initiative to walk alongside our Historic South End neighbors when specific needs arise. While Rooted does not provide direct financial aid or clinical services, we believe in the power of neighbor-to-neighbor help, empowerment, and long-term relational support.
When a neighbor submits a request, it is reviewed and approved by Rooted’s Directors. Once approved, we reach out to our volunteer team to see who is available to step in.
-
What it looks like: Small household projects, practical neighbor-to-neighbor help, meals for individuals in the hospital or recovering, heavy lifting or moving furniture, light yardwork, or helping seniors set up technology and gadgets.
-
What it looks like: Life coaching, basic budgeting/financial guidance, skill-building, prayer support, offering regular encouragement, or simply providing a listening ear.
-
No long-term standing commitment: You only respond when you are available.
Direct, simple communication: Whenever a verified need is approved by our Directors, you will receive an individual mass text message outlining the opportunity. (This is not a group chat—your reply goes directly to the team!)
Respond if you're free: If the request fits your schedule and skill set, simply text back to accept the opportunity. If you're busy, no response is needed!

Our hope is that we primarily discover needs relationally and organically, but if you have or see a need in the Historic South End, please contact us at rootedkent@gmail.com or (330) 238-3069 and we’ll share some next steps with you.
